Gayle doubles up Sri Lanka

Chris Gayle stole the show with an unbeaten 219 on the opening day of the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle.
Gayle, back in the ranks after losing the captaincy to Darren Sammy, faced 247 balls and hit 26 fours and eight sixes to help the tourists reach the close on 362-2.
The Jamaican left-hander, who took 19 deliveries to get off the mark, put on 110 with opening partner Adrian Barath after Sammy won the toss and opted to bat first.
Barath, dropped on 35, edged spinner Suraj Randiv (1-144) to slip for 50 just before lunch, bringing out debutant Darren Bravo - younger brother of Dwayne - to join Gayle.
And the second-wicket pair enjoyed themselves, batting throughout the afternoon session on the way to adding 196 together.
There was just one moment of concern for Gayle, on 65, when Mendis used - and lost - a decision review attempting to win an lbw verdict.
Celebration
Gayle went to his 13th Test hundred from 116 deliveries in early afternoon and celebrated by lying flat on his back in the middle of the pitch.
Bravo completed a maiden half-century from 133 balls before the persevering Randiv saw two catches go down off successive deliveries.
The first was a hard return chance off Gayle that resulted in a single and the second, from Bravo to short-leg, was also tough.
Bravo's promising knock ended on 58 when he holed out to Thilan Samaraweera on the long-leg boundary to give off-spinner Ajantha Mendis (1-90) a welcome breakthrough.
There was, however, no stopping Gayle as he advanced to the third double ton of his career.
He was joined by fellow veteran Shivnarine Chanderpaul (20no) in an unbroken third-wicket alliance of 56 through to stumps.
West Indies are looking to correct a poor record on Sri Lankan soil, where they have failed to win a Test in six previous attempts.
